A large and dramatic seascape depicting a feint and distant horizon with Burgh Island's Murray's rocks just surfacing to the right hand side. The top half of the painting shows a moody yet bright sky built up with many layers of oil paint washes and sprays. The foreground shows rocks uncovered from a recent storm. Sprays of brightly coloured oil paint and gold leaf have been applied at the base of the painting to emulate the light shining on the rocks and to add additional interest.
The oil on canvas painting measures 120x100cm and is framed in a solid wood tray frame hand made by the artist and finished in matte white.
